Spring

Year 5 have enjoyed a highly engaging and varied term, taking part in a range of exciting activities that have supported both their learning and personal development.

The children took part in a Cyber Escape Room experience, where they worked collaboratively to solve puzzles, crack codes and overcome challenges linked to online safety and digital awareness. This interactive activity helped to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and a greater understanding of how to stay safe and responsible online.

As part of their cultural learning, Year 5 visited The Gujarat, where they explored aspects of culture, heritage and community. The visit provided valuable opportunities for the children to broaden their understanding of different traditions and develop respect and appreciation for diversity within society.

A particular highlight of the term was the Year 5 Class Assembly, where the children confidently shared their learning with parents and carers. Through speaking, singing and performance, they demonstrated excellent teamwork, creativity and growing confidence in presenting to an audience.

Year 5 also took part in Bikeability training, where they learned essential road safety skills and how to cycle safely on and around roads. The children showed great determination and responsibility, developing their confidence and awareness as young cyclists.

This term has been full of memorable experiences that have helped Year 5 to grow in confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Welcome to an exciting Year 5 adventure! Our students kicked off the year with a brilliant bowling alley trip, fostering friendships and teamwork. Mathematics took center stage with fantastic work on Place Value, exploring the magic of powers of 10. Life Cycles captivated young minds, while creative energies flowed into crafting burger boxes for an upcoming thrilling trip.

French language skills flourished as students described diverse French shops with impeccable accents. Next on the agenda is a Burger Trip to the college, promising a delightful fusion of education and culinary exploration. Our calendar also sparkled with a Halloween disco, adding a dash of festive fun.
