Spring
Year 4 have had an exciting and enriching term, taking part in a wide range of activities designed to inspire learning, build confidence and broaden their understanding of the world beyond the classroom.
As part of the Fit 2 Go programme in partnership with Blackpool Football Club, the children have taken part in engaging workshops focused on health, wellbeing and active lifestyles. These sessions have encouraged pupils to think about the importance of staying fit, making positive choices and working together as a team, while also enjoying fun and energetic activities.
The children also enjoyed a visit to Blackpool and The Fylde College, where they experienced learning in a different setting and took part in a variety of interactive activities. The visit helped to raise aspirations and encouraged curiosity about future learning opportunities, while also developing confidence in new environments.
We were also fortunate to welcome BAE Systems into school for a special visit. The children learned about the world of engineering and technology, discovering how maths, science and creativity are used in real-life careers. This inspiring experience helped pupils to understand the importance of STEM subjects and the wide range of future possibilities available to them.
Overall, Year 4 have had a busy and inspiring term filled with memorable experiences that have supported their learning, personal development and enthusiasm for new challenges.

Autumn
My, how quickly October has passed! The children have been deeply engaged in our Egyptian topic, working diligently.
In English, we delved into playscripts, learning about their essential elements and crafting our own based on the short film ‘Marshmallows’. Their efforts were truly remarkable!
Meanwhile, in Maths, we tackled concepts of length, perimeter, multiplication, and division, sharpening our problem-solving abilities.
Our trip to the World Museum in Liverpool was a highlight, where we marveled at Egyptian artifacts and even tried our hand at mummification!
November concluded with an incredible Egyptian theme day, filled with games, dances, and crafts. The children looked splendid, and it was a memorable occasion!
Lastly, our budding cornet players continue to shine, gaining confidence and skill. Recently they’ve been practicing Christmas songs and we are aiming for a concert in the Spring term.
