Year 3 have enjoyed a fantastic term filled with exciting opportunities to learn both inside and outside the classroom.
The children took part in a Roman Live Lesson, where they travelled back in time to discover what life was like in Roman Britain. They learned about Roman soldiers, daily life, inventions and the lasting impact the Romans have had on our world today. The interactive lesson brought history to life and sparked lots of curiosity and thoughtful questions.
We were also delighted to welcome Wild Aid into school for a special environmental learning day. Through engaging activities and discussions, the children learned about the importance of protecting our environment and explored ways that we can all make positive choices to care for our planet.
Our Theme Day was another highlight of the term, with pupils immersing themselves in a variety of creative and practical activities linked to their learning. The day encouraged teamwork, curiosity and enthusiasm, allowing children to deepen their understanding through hands-on experiences.
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Ridgeway Farm, where they learned more about different animals and how they are cared for. The children enjoyed meeting the animals, asking questions and developing their understanding of the natural world and life on a working farm.
The children also visited Fernhill Dairy Farm, where they gained a fascinating insight into dairy farming. They learned about the journey of milk from the farm to our tables and discovered the important role farmers play in caring for their animals and producing food. The visit provided many opportunities for observation, discussion and real-life learning.
To round off the term, Year 3 proudly presented their class assembly. The children confidently shared their learning through speaking, singing and performing, demonstrating excellent teamwork and growing confidence in front of an audience.
This term has been full of memorable experiences that have enriched learning, developed confidence and inspired the children to continue exploring and discovering the world around them.

Welcome to the adventurous world of Year 3! Our mathematical journey began with the exploration of number partitioning using the base-10 system, laying the foundation for numerical understanding. Musical vibes filled the air as we embraced our first ukulele session, creating harmonious melodies.
Geography came alive as we pored over atlas pages, uncovering the secrets of UK rivers and seas. In a nod to history, we enhanced our understanding of the Stone Age through freeze frames, culminating in lively performances depicting a day in the life of a Stone Age person.
The spirit of Halloween brought festive fun with a disco, adding a touch of celebration to our learning. Delving into technology, we embarked on a quest to discover the locations of different parts of a computer network around the school. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as Year 3 continues its dynamic exploration!
