Pre-School & Rising 3’s Room

In the Pre-School & Rising 3’s Room, children study three main topics within their immersive classroom environment.

Our first topic is ‘Our Wonderful World’, throughout the term we look at our families and how they are all different whilst also looking at our homes and the local environment. We then lead on to emergency services where we explore the ambulance service, fire service and the police. Next we also look at other cultural celebrations such as Hannukah and Thanksgiving before celebrating all things Christmas!

In the spring term we look at ‘Come Outside’, the term starts by learning about Chinese New year. The children enjoy learning about the culture and lifestyle that is built around this national celebration. Then we look at transport, from cars and planes to trains and boats including the forces that power them. After transport, we become nature detectives as we look at camping, planting, bird watching and lifecycles.

And during the summer term we explore ‘Fairy Tales and Fantasy’. This topic cover dungeons, dragons and princess’ which involves lots of role play and small world play. The children also enjoy a teddy bears picnic as they look into stories that are set in the woods. Another topic that is covered in summer term is space, we look into light and dark as well as planets, significant people and technology.
