Welcome to Kincraig Primary School

Welcome to Kincraig Primary School!

At Kincraig Primary School our vision statement is, ‘Kincraig Primary school… Where the children are at the heart of everything we do.’ We pride ourselves on our warm, friendly and family orientated atmosphere.

At Kincraig we recognise that every child is unique and all our staff work extremely hard to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to achieve to their full potential. Children learn what they live, so it is vital we give them a wide range of experiences and create stimulating learning environments to ensure every child can develop a love for learning and enjoy being in school.

We have the highest possible standards for behaviour at Kincraig and we value the partnerships we have developed with parents, carers and the local community. Ultimately we endeavour to develop the whole child and prepare each one academically, emotionally and socially to live and succeed in an ever changing world.

I am proud to be the Head teacher of Kincraig and to know I am leading an exceptional team of staff to provide the very best possible education for all the children in our care. It is important to us all at Kincraig that parents feel part of our school too and always feel welcome. If you have not visited the school and would like to, do not hesitate to contact us and we will arrange an appointment.

Introduction to school

Kincraig Primary School is located in the Bispham area of Blackpool. The school opened its doors for the first time in 1997, since then the school has been extended and modernised significantly.

The school is currently one form entry and is built on one level and although appearing small from Kincraig Road, the premises opens up to reveal a modern and stimulating environment where the pupils enjoy learning. We have 7 classes, Reception through to Year 6 with up to 30 children per class. The school boasts a colourful library in the atrium, an intervention room and a large hall used for a variety of different activities throughout the day. We are very lucky to have a large surrounding field for outside activities and a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and we have a purpose built kitchen which enables us to prepare and cook the children’s lunches fresh each day.

There is an excellent Nursery attached to school which provides childcare from birth and offers wrap around care supporting parents with childcare.

The teaching staff are talented, experienced and passionate about providing the best possible learning experiences. They always put the needs of the children, whether they be educational, personal or social, as their first and most important priority. They employ a range of teaching styles and techniques to enable the children to achieve the highest possible standards.

We believe that education extends beyond the academic to the development of the whole child into a capable and confident individual, ready and able to take a place in society.

Our core aim is to provide children with the skills, knowledge, attitudes and confidence which are necessary to enable them to make informed choices for themselves. The children experience a wide range of learning opportunities that are intended to develop them academically and personally.

Parents are encouraged to take an active role in the school. They are invited to support teachers through such activities as hearing children read or assisting them on the computers. They are also invited to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher on a regular basis.
